whitewater venue a "tsunamic" disappointment
Always wanted to meet the "boys" as a texan and as a fan since I was old enough to listen to a radio. I've seen the Top 6 times and this trip, for the first time, we bought the "Diamond Pkg" with meet and greet: guaranteed first 5 rows, etc.--you've read it.
There were no "seats" at venue--general admission, SRO. All who bought $250 tickets were highly disappointed. After the show, they shoved us through the meet and greet like cattle to take a photo with a "professional" who did not know how to put the battery in the camera...yeah I saw you.
I also don't know why Mr. G would not sign a guitar. It's a lot of trouble to bring one to a show and if it's for a fan who paid $250 for a ticket, that's not asking a lot. I'm 48, a doctor and a teacher and I'm not trying to cash in on someone's signature.
I am embarassed to have paid so much for 2 tickets and gotten so little. All I've ever done is proudly support this band and introduce its music to friends, students, strangers and non-texans.
I'll close by saying I'll always be a fan of the band's music, but I am not a fan of their handlers, how they receive their loyal fans, or their "scene." If you happen to catch Jimmie Vaughan after a show, he WILL sign your guitar...even if you pay regular ticket price!
